Previous post on 8D/7N Sabah Trip.
Dad's ex-colleagues brought us to the most famous fish head noodles in town that located at Hilltop.
No table is available for vacant when we first arrived. The restaurant is packed with food hunters as early as 9 in the morning!
Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant
Only available during daytime. Commonly, you can find fish head meehoon everywhere in Kota Kinabalu.
Every significant stall/restaurant has its own special soup base as well as the ingredients to spice up your tastebuds.
I never a fan of fish head meehoon but frankly speaking, this fish head meehoon rocks! I personally love the milk base soup. The fish is fresh and chewy, fish skin is smooth, the fish cakes we ordered are awesomely taste delicious! Not forgetting to mention the fish meats are boneless!
I would rate this restaurant 5/5. The service is quick and arranged, the food are heavenly good, consider about the prices, thought it is a bit pricey but the portion is enough for 2 person.
After the breakfast, we headed to the town for its Sunday market, which is Gaya Market. Gaya Market located at Gaya Street (originally named Bond Street) This street is the busiest street in Kota Kinabalu considering it's located in the Central Business District, it will be closed down for traffic and make way to this famous market.
You can find almost everything just by strolling down the street under shady trees.
Amazingly, they sell pets too!
Other than as what shown in the photos above, they do sell batik clothes, self-made keychains, paints, fruits, just to name few. There are also busking, commonly called as street performance.
In fact, it will be such a waste if you have not visited Gaya Market if you were in Kota Kinabalu. Differently from the markets in Peninsular Malaysia, Gaya Market is well-blended with its local culture and undeniably it was an eye opener!
Just a reminder, the trading hour of Gaya Market is until 1pm only.
