Previous Post on Melbourne.
During winter, the temperature in Melbourne was constantly at 5°C-9°C during night time. A pair of gloves are recommended but I seldom put it on as I need to use my phone all freaking time especially when you are traveling alone and you want to share every beautiful things with your loved one, thus those aggressive mobile uploads on my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Oh Melbourne! Having coffee is an addiction, I consumed more coffee compared how many times I did here. I had milky Latte, Cappucino, super bitter Macchiato, creamy Caramel, warm Mocha all from Hudson's Coffee, Starbucks Coffee, Gloria Jean's, and Michel's Patisserie. Most of it, I meant.
So it was a freezing night. I decided to take a night walk, hot warm Teh Tarik from the Elizabeth Street and Hot Mocha from Starbucks, Swanson Street came to rescue.
It seems greeting a stranger is a common behavior. I was greeted for so (sooooooo) many times while I strolled the pedestrian path along the Yarra River. I will take a bike if I could, it's the law that a cyclist must has a helmet. What a let down.
The highlight of Sandridge Rail Bridge is the featured arts. There are a series of giant steel sculptures sliding across the Yarra. There are 10 sculptures and the series is named as The Travellers.
The refurbished bridge that I was standing on was originally opened in 1888. It is built to link pier and St. Kilda and Port Melbourne Lines with Melbourne. It was then closed for rail traffic in 2006 and transformed into pedestrian and cycle path.
Across the Yarra from Federation Square, it's the Southbank of Yarra River.
A five-star hotel beautifully located on the Southbank of Yarra River, Melbourne.
During early years, ships traveled and Yarra River become home to many Melbournian. The Turning Basin is where ships could be turned around the river. As for today, the river bank is refurbished and to locate it, just across the river from the east side of Melbourne Aquarium and you'll find it.
Up next : Melbourne Aquarium.
