According to travel forums, there are few famous temples in Tokyo. Sensoji Temple is the oldest Buddist Temple located in Asakusa (浅草). It was still early in the morning when we reached the nearest station, I can't find any ATM nearby, and frankly speaking I was quite upset when I finally found one but couldn't make any withdrawal. Hey HSBC, thought you're "World's Local Bank"? You're not local in Japan. *tears* Anyway, my boyfriend come in rescue, I need to use his money which I consider myself quite lucky as he's able to make withdrawal from almost all the ATMs in Tokyo.
It was mad hot in Tokyo. I bought a cooling scarf from Disneyland and kept my boyfriend's neck cold, he was going to faint due to the super hot weather. I bagged 5 water bottles in my backpack and drank all of it within 3 hours. Can you imagine how dehydrated I was. I walked into 7-11 and stick my back at the refrigerator's door to cool myself down, and it's working though!
To reach the Main Hall of Sensoji Temple, all the visitors first enter through a shopping street (Nakamise-Dori) from the outer gate (Kaminari-mon). There are plenty of shops selling Ningyoyaki, Osenbei, Yukata and souvenirs. According to one of the stall owners I've had a little chit-chat with, the street is about 300 meters and was operated since few centuries ago.
I highly recommend this dessert shop! It's located at the left, the last shop of the row.
Some snaps of Nakamise-Dori.
Here we are, Sensoji Temple!
I did some Google research on the prayer-routine.
Within the temple itself, found more statues in the garden. I don't know what is the name in English, read the Chinese words, people.
The Omikuji stall. Querents skake the metal containers until a labelled stick falls out. Find the 'answer' from the drawers.
And oh, the phone accessory that I mentioned in my earlier post is this!
It shocked me when I was fishing my phone in my bag. I couldn't find it so I look into my bag and it scared the hell out of me when I saw that little creepy face glowing in my bag! I took it off from my phone since then.

Omikuji are fortune telling paper slips, tying for good fortune to come true or bad fortune to be averted. |
