... also named as "Muzha Zoo" 木栅动物园。It is also the largest zoo in Asia. Woke up earlier in the morning, had a quick breakfast in the city before heading to the zoo. Recommended to spent a whole day here, we reached at the zoo about 11-12pm, the zoo closed at 5pm, we missed quite a number of animals. Yeah,  we should reach earlier.

Taipei Zoo South Station

Reached Zhong Xiao Fu Xing station before we take the Muzha Line. The train to Taipei Zoo is smaller and colorful compared to other trains.

We take the cable car to Taipei Zoo

What a lucky day to us. Similar to Lantau Island Cable Car in Hong Kong, Mao Kong Cable Car has crystal cable car too! We got to take crystal cable car with the price of normal cable car.

Chong Cia Ling, the funniest little girl who made my Taiwan trip interesting.

The scenery is beautiful, despite the coldness and thick fog. Didn't take any photos, you must see it yourself. We departed at the first stop which is the Taipei Zoo South station. Get your entrance ticket here. I purchased the special ticket which costs cheaper using the "Let's Be Friends" card.

Shuttle is here!

From the entrance, you may take the free shuttle to enter the zoo. Walking is possible but it's a bit too far for me thou.

The zoo is really huge and to be frank, it's tiring to walk. Optionally you can take the zoo train as shown below. If I'm not mistaken, it requires a small fee to take the train.

Taipei Zoo is a well-managed zoological garden, it amazes me. The cleanliness is 5-star rating. Sorry to tell, our zoos are bad compared to theirs. But I still love our zoo because zoo is the place where our younger generation will learn about humanity and morality, I mean it, no joke. Nowadays, children don't know things about survival and the love towards to our mother earth and nature. I wish our zoo management learn from the best and implement more informations about our nature into every piece of woods and plants within the zoo area to educate us about the importance of loving our motherland, especially about recycle.

Hippos are from our reach but not all the animals. It excites me to be frank when the animals are close to me.

Their major attraction is the Giant Panda House!

Giant Panda House, Taipei

Tuan Tuan 团团 and Yuan Yuan 圆圆 just recently gave birth to a baby panda named Yuan Zai 圆仔. During my visit, only Tuan Tuan is available for exhibition. We were told that the mother, Yuan Yuan is having maternity leave, lol. Unlike many other panda cubs, Taipei is not required to return Yuan Zai to China, so people, you may be able to see Yuan Zai starting March 2014!

On a side note, I flew to Hong Kong on the 25th October 2013 and missed the event where Yuan Zai is officially named and awarded the citizen card by Taipei Zoo on the 27th. Yuan Zai, I'll go and visit you again next year!

Not for sale.

I would suggest to avoid visit the zoo on Mondays. Some of the animal exhibitions close on Monday for cleaning and upgrading purposes. Normally the entrance ticket costs $80 per person (equivalent to RM8.00). I applied for "Let's Be Friends" card when I first touched down at the airport. It's a free application and it will be approved immediately at the airport. Take note that the applicant must be 30 and under. They offered many privileges but the only time I used was to buy the zoo ticket which costs me $30 only. So let me remind you again, if you are planning to visit Taipei Zoo, get there early in the morning, also make sure your Easy Card 悠游卡 is reloaded, there are many kiosks and restaurants in the zoo. I've bought many panda souvenirs thou, too cute hard to resist!
