Konbawa! Means good afternoon, I guess.
Shed tears when I was checking through all the photos taken in Japan. They are so surreal that.. I can't believe I was in Japan until I reached Malaysia!
One of the important reasons to take Air Asia is, you get to upsize your luggage weight! Will tell more about it later.
Thanks to the boyfriend for transferring some movies into the iPad, we survived 7 hours without in-flight entertainment. We saved about RM 45 if I'm not mistaken.
Reached Haneda Airport at 11.30pm! A piece of advice, the last shuttle bus to the city ends at 5.30pm. I took the afternoon flight and by the time we reached Haneda airport, most of the public transport services were no longer in service at the wee hour.
We took the last train to Hamamatsucho Station.
My first vending machine encounter at Hamamatsucho Station!
The train lines were quite confusing for a first timer like me. We missed the last train to Suitengumae Station, where our hotel located.
There was booking mistake where I have forgotten to include the first night, which is right after my arrival in Tokyo. We had communication breakdown at the hotel front desk, where we needed to pronounce English word one by one. Luckily they managed to catch what we said, they were willing to let us check in a night earlier despite the mistake I've made.
I've planned itinerary for our 9 days in Tokyo. My first must-go place is Tsukiji Market 築地市場!
Had a short nap before we go to Tsukiji Market. 4 in the morning, it is already dawn in Tokyo. The train service is not available so we went there by foot.
My initial plan was to experience the famous Tuna auction. But the plan failed when I couldn't understand the direction those kind Japanese were trying to convey. I asked for the location, they told me the wholesale market will open at 9am, I realized we were actually talking the different things!
Tips: You must write down the address in Japanese. I managed to go almost all the places I wanted when I showed them the address written in Katagana and Hiragana.
A Japanese temple.
Tsukiji Market is one of the biggest markets in the world. Although I did not visit their inner market, I would still suggest you to pay a visit there! Tsukiji Market is famous of its daily catch, statistically up to 3000 tons per day! You will see plenty of fishes, flowers and meats!
The outer market.
The outer market are form of few blocks of small retail shops and restaurants along narrow lanes. The local suggests us to have fresh sushi breakfast but I gave it a pass. I urged to boyfriend to go back to the hotel for in-house breakfast instead as I wanted to go Akihabara! I've bought few packets of tidbits from Tsukiji Market and I still have it in my fridge. I didn't want to open it, so loser-ish, I know.
