It's been awhile since the last dine-in with le boyfriend, just both of us. I was busy since last December, came back from Seoul, rushing for a project, flew to Japan for Tokyo Auto Salon 2016, then Chinese New Year celebration, ignored Valentine's celebration, back to work again.

Untitled

I had a meeting with a project client in Mid Valley, while the boyfriend wants to check out GoPro so we set the shopping mall as our meeting point around the evening. I seriously need a chilling #paktohdate after the suffocating hectic schedule, juggling between my office work and #EuphoriaProject. Our regular choice is always Japanese food, I suggested to check out the newly opened Vietnamese shop next to Canton-i.

Untitled
Checking out the menu

Honestly speaking, this is exactly how it looks like of my ideal menu. It's like a learning board for toddlers, learning it step-by-step. You may choose your appetizers, main course, and drink and desserts accordingly.

The normal portion for an adult is 160g per serve/noodles set. As you can see, the portions are from 80g to 200g. The waitress suggested us to order the recommended portion first, then add another 40g with no extra charge.

Untitled
Ca Phe Sua RM7.90 (hot) / RM8.90 (Cold)

If you haven't try, you must try the famous aromatic Vietnamese Dripping Coffee with condensed milk. The boyfriend is a hardcore fan for coffee, his favorite, it is.

Untitled
Clam Spicy Soup (RM13.90), serving for two.

While waiting for our main course, I briefly talked about my annoyance towards a person that we both know personally. I don't know how to describe him perfectly but, he is definitely a #rkoi wannabe. Besides the fact that he has lesser 'like' than the hashtags he used in most of instagram posts, he self-proclaimed himself as a fashionable blogger (that I really loathe for, what a disgrace for fashionable people), the most annoying part is, he doesn't write a blog. Shall check out his hashtags to believe it. I was forced to unfollow him because his shamelessness is unconcealed that disgusted me.

Untitled
Pho Ga Noodle Soup Chicken (RM15.90)

The boyfriend was patiently listening to my rant before he made any comment. I was surprised that he overheard what this particular person said to me during the last gathering. Regardless of the fact that this particular wannabe is a regular for Triple-A counterfeit, he arrogantly told me that he was a regular for a certain brands (which I was wearing that time) since years ago and now he has moved on to another collection. Like seriously, plenty of his collection of fake Givenchy shirts over my one-and-only Bambi and Female Form Antigona Tote? Like seriously, a Triple-A counterfeit Christian Louboutin Louis Spikes over my Marc by Marc Jacobs Studded Mouse Ballet Flat? Like seriously, a brat depending on family while I can speak better English (oh he knows why I even want to use this against him) and probably earned so much better than he is when I was at his age few years back?

Untitled
Ga Nuong Lemongrass Chicken Rice (RM15.90)

Quoted from my boyfriend: "Being humble is a quality characteristic but also subjective depending who do you mingle with". To make it easier to understand, if you're trying to show off in front of the genuine ones, you're just talking cock and making yourself looks so bad. Period.

Socialization is a process where we learn about behaviours and self-esteem. From time to time, human gain inner development/realization where they experience the challenge of dealing with hardships. Apparently this wannabe has no self realization, yet.

Untitled
Mouthwatering tender chicken meat.

He desperately seeking for social recognition. His instagram is full of counterfeits, begging for likes, fishing for attentions in all sorts of way. He has no originality at all to be frank. Why I even mentioned about originality, I'll keep it from the public knowing because I still hope he can achieve whatever he's longing for without "tumpang glamour".

Which concluded this particular wannabe or "屁孩" is another one bites the dust. Sarcastically, despite he tried numerously to triumph me, he often asks me to get my peers to support him. My peers aren't for you, little boy. Another joke is, he made a statement that we have the same pair of shoes but he got it earlier than me. Now what, another self-proclaimed title "Fashion Trendsetter"? I have no choice but to keep my mouth shut when he said it otherwise I'll laugh out loud and snort.

bu yao mei chi nong wo jiang kai xin, ke yi ma? ni zhe ge kai xin guo shi yao dang hong ren ma?

Seriously, I'll let him be even if the fact is I got mine reserved before the stock has arrived to Malaysia because my close friend freaking own the store! Can he even count the days difference between 26 weeks and 10 weeks in social posting, nevermind, it's too hard for him. Furthermore, to correct him is an useless act because the thickness of his face is unbreakable, as in Chinese, 以卵击石,用超大岩石都砸不死。

Anyways, Sangkaya as a treat for getting things off my chest. It's the first time I paid for Sangkaya though.

Congratulations to our Malaysian team who takes lead at the 8th MBA International Badminton Championship!

Overall, Malaysia took the lead with 11 gold medals, followed by Indonesia with 5 golds and China, Taiwan and Singapore had 3 golds respectively.

The three-day event attracted over 450 local and international badminton players to Port Dickson participating in 25 different categories. The tournament includes all categories in an official tournament and also offers additional categories which are popular amongst families such as 3v3 (triples instead of just doubles) and family doubles (one parent and one child).

As one of the pioneers in the badminton industry in Malaysia, MBA’s vision is to be the hub of private badminton training and solutions at the international level, to produce world-class players. “We have held over 10 major international tournaments over the years, hosting close to 10 thousand players from around the world. Our training academy has trained almost 35,000 students via our junior development programmes and provided free training for underprivileged children via our Hope for Change badminton charity programme,” said Lee.

Former Thomas Cup player, Mr Kwek Chiew Peng, 63, who also participated in the Championship walked away with first and second place for categories in men’s doubles (combined aged 110) and men’s doubles (combined aged 120) respectively.

The badminton coach and former national player from Port Dickson expressed his excitement on the new MBA badminton facility being so close to home. “I want to urge all parents to encourage and bring their children to play badminton as it is a healthy activity. If I was 30 years old, I will be able to produce a lot of good players here,” said Kwek.

Married couple Hema and Dinesh who are coaches in Petaling Jaya, also participated in the tournament for the category mixed double. “The plan was to bring our students here to play and gain experience. Since they have the mixed doubles category, we decided to play as well,” they happily quipped.

Apart from local badminton enthusiasts, MBA is also honoured to have the exceptional backing of its international counterparts from Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam that have continuously been supportive towards MBA’s International Tournaments over the years.

Myai from Vietnam has been playing badminton for 10 years and has participated in many
tournaments around the world.  Commenting on how much fun she had at the 8th MBA International Championship as she did in other international tournaments, Myai said, “This is not my first time playing in Malaysia and I will come back again to play if MBA is organizing another international tournament.”

Also in attendance of the official opening of MBA Port Dickson was Mr Ng Chin Chai, Secretary of Badminton Association Malaysia (BAM) and Mr Wu Jun Yan, President of the World Chinese Badminton Federation.

There's basically nothing much for me to share about Ihwa Mural Village located in Ihwa-Dong, as there are plenty of bloggers had blogged about it.

I've been anticipating to explore this artsy-patsy neighbourhood since "Rooftop Prince". I became addicted to Korea drama ever since I watched Rooftop Prince, then The Heirs and the rest. It's a bad addiction that I spent most of my toilet break holding iPad watching dramas.

Untitled
Daehangno area

At Naksan Park, a steep walk up of slopes you'll find Ihwa Mural Village. First take the Seoul Subway Line 4, take off at Hyehwa Station and exit through Exit 2.

My hotel was located just opposite the Seoul Station thus I don't need a line transfer. Taking subway in Seoul need some research before hop-on-hop-off especially if you don't read Korean or Mandarin characters. English is not as common as what I expected in Seoul. The citizen hardly speak English and they weren't as helpful as Japanese, better to search for the direction and memorize the routes before you reach Seoul.

Untitled
The first sculpture once exited the station

Take a stroll down in the area commonly known as Daehangno. There are several universities around, walk straight once you exited the station according to the signboard showing Ihwa Mural Village. Turn left at Ihwajang-Gil and walk for another 400m.

Untitled
All sold out.

Along the street there's Starbucks too. I never Starbucks-ing while I was in Seoul, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Tokyo because there're more coffee shops to explore and try besides Starbucks.

Untitled
The first thing in my mind, why monkey?

The 'Welcoming Kitty' is one of the landmarks for your next turn, turn left and we we came to a small neighbourhood with rows of small shops.

Untitled
The Welcoming Kitty

There's traditional restaurant on our left sells Chicken Soup set at 5,500WON only! Korea is famous of its Ginseng Soup, my favorite is always chicken soup with rice, nothing can beat a warm soup with chicken broth and drumsticks, especially during the winter.

Untitled
The last photo before my camera fell to the floor and broke.

It broke my heart when my camera fell from the bench. Camera was broken! Luckily it still under warranty, I sent it to the Olympus service center in Mont Kiara once I'm back from Tokyo and settled down with my works. It took just a night for the repair and I received call for camera collection the next day, just days before the Chinese New Year, Olympus rocks!

Untitled
Seaweed soup is love!

Stomach is satisfied and time to walk uphill to reach Ihwa Mural Village.

Untitled
The first interesting mural art we saw while climbing the slope

Just a brief introduction of Ihwa Mural Village: In 2006, Naksan Project is carried out the Local Public Art Committee to improve the environment of Ihwa Village. As you can see from all the travel blogs and photos, many interesting art pieces installed and wall painting in the area. Since then Ihwa Mural Village has become of the tourist attractions in Seoul.

Untitled
Plenty of this plants in the city.

There's a board indicating the Mural Village Walking Tour Course on your right. Before we reached the first metal art piece, we came across an unique cafe and decided to pay it a visit.

Differently from all the cafes I've visited, the coffee machine is facing outside with the menu board hanging above it. Jazz Story is owned by a retired couple who had their son-in-law in charge for the interior design of this cafe.

To be honest, the coffee wasn't cheap. The coffees cost around 6,000 - 8000 WON each. Some of you may think it's economical but it surely quite pricing for me, considering my favourite daily coffee costs me RM2.00 only. I had my coffee earlier thus I didn't order one but sharing it with my boyfriend. He's an ultimate coffee lover and sip up to 4 cups per day, which I think it'll compromise his sleep and health. But, anyways,

So tempted to bring this orange bird home.

Took us about 2 hours to explore the art pieces. We skipped some of it unintentionally, in case you want to explore all, make sure to do some researches online and jot down the details.

I remember I took a photo with the famous spreading wing, but too lazy to retrieve it from the boyfriend's phone. :/

University Park

Students are selling roses in this park. I've seen many are gathered under the Christmas Tree waiting for their friends, some of them play musical instruments and some of them are doing parkour, which are more interesting compared to magic show.

I became a little moody since my camera was broken, the boyfriend cheered me up by getting me a cute cup cover from Dunkin Donuts!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I'm gonna nom you.

It was Christmas Eve, got no plan at all. It was my first time in Seoul and have no idea where to for the celebration, unlike in Tokyo, you'll see couples with flowers and gift boxes. Christmas Tree and decoration is everywhere, you pretty much feel like you're in a western country.

I decided to check out the illuminating rose field in Dongdaemon at night, want to know more, check out the next blog, kamsahamida!
